Perfect role

To us, future Hall of Famer Dave Andreychuk is the perfect person to represent the Tampa Bay Lightning in the community. He's approachable, knowledgeable and easily makes fans, no matter their age, feel right at home.

That's one of the reasons why Lisa and Colin traveled to Tampa last night to take in the team's weekly radio show. Yeah, that and the fact that he'll sign just about anything put in front of him.

Beyond Andreychuk signing three cards, two of which are shown above, and a cherrypicking team logo picture, it was the time he spent Wednesday talking to Colin about his upcoming first rec league game as well as protecting his melon.

Sure, I know that most NHL players get a kick out of dealing with the game's younger fans, but Andreychuk consistently goes above and beyond. The Lightning could not have picked a better ambassador.

Now, all the team has to do is raise his No. 25 to the rafters of the St. Pete Times Forum. I'm thinking that Jan. 21, when the Sabres are in town, sounds like a good night.
