He's no dummy

With Mike Smith and Olaf Kolzig on the depth charts in front of him, Tampa Bay goalie prospect Karri Ramo isn't above letting his new boss, Lightning co-owner Oren Koules, enjoy an early return on his investment.

Koules, it seems, took part in some of the early drills this morning as nearly a dozen NHL players, past and present, held another informal practice over in Brandon.

Ramo, who signed three pucks (shown above), admitted he let Koules, a former minor leaguer, score a few times.

"You have to," said Ramo, as his grin turned to a smile. "I want to get a spot on the team."
